FAQ
Installation
The Remote monitoring & control system ensures that any problems or upgrades can be solved remotely. In addition, performance can be measured on land and shared with other parties, such as ports, customers, financiers, etc.
This is included in the price so that customers are relieved.

– Installation
Filtree Systems have been running on several coasters and container feeders for a number of years. We recently installed them on tankers too.
Value Maritime takes care of engineering, material delivery and installation of the Filtree System on board your ship.
The delivery time in combination with installation preparation is approximately 7 months after signing the agreement.
Due to the plug & play concept of the Filtree and our experience, the maximum off-hire time of the ship is minimal and is around 10-14 days.
Value Maritime
Value Maritime is a young, transparent and innovation-driven company with a team of experienced engineers and financial experts. Value Maritime is a member of your crew and offers a plug-and-play concept with the Filtree System and financial solutions to unburden ship operators (ship owners, charterers and shipmanagers) and reduce their environmental footprint.
Within shipping there is the need to arrive at a sustainable solution, which in particular in freight traffic reduces air pollution and reduces acidification and pollution of seawater. This fact with the expertise of Value Maritime prompted us to consider how we could make an important contribution to the common goal of making shipping as sustainable as possible. This has resulted in the development of the Filtree System.
Shipowners who aim for optimal financial returns and want to contribute to a better environment, opt for Value Maritime’s unique technology. To make sure you make the best choice, our specialists will guide you through the entire process. We give advice on the best system for your situation, supply all the necessary material, engineering and install everything professionally. We are also there for you after installation, with our maintenance & service program and continuous remote monitoring & control.
Technical
The Filtree System is suitable for engine sizes between 2.0 and 15.0 MW.
No, the Filtree System is designed in a way that it automatically cleans it filters and the residue is stored in the sludge tanks on board of the vessel to be processed environmental friendly on land.
Yes, the system is compact due to its new technology and also suitable for smaller ships. Ship types such as coasters, container feeders (up to 1,000 TEU), small tankers, handy size bulkers.
High sulfur fuel is a by-product of the refining process and will last for a long time. The producers will provide a path to the market in order to make the product profitable.

The Filtree System is a plug-and-play concept and consists of standard modules and materials. This means a quick installation and few modifications to the ship. The modules can later be exchanged and installed on other ships, making it suitable for older ships as well.
Value Maritime has developed an CO₂ Capture module to be integrated in Value Maritime’s Filtree System. The Capture module captures CO₂ from the vessel’s eexhaust and uses the CO₂ to charge a CO₂ Battery; a CO₂ storage facility on which CO₂ can be charged and discharged
Value Maritime’s integrated CO₂ module can capture 100% of the CO₂ in the vessel’s exhaust. By adding or removing CO₂ Batteries from your vessel, you can up- and downscale your total CO₂ storage capacity. As a result with Value Maritime’s CO₂ solution, you can make sure your vessel operate under the most optimal circumstances at all times and in line with your company’s strategy.
The Filtree System has been developed for small and medium-sized ships on the basis of new unique technology that, in addition to sulfur, also filters ultra-fine particulate matter from the air. The system ensures that the PH value of the used washing water is neutralized and, in combination with a lower CO2 emission, contributes to reducing the acidification of the seawater.
Environmental
Fine particulate matter (fine dust) are small particles that are released into the air after fuel has been burned. Inhaling these particles is very harmful to your health. Ships that use low sulfur fuel do not filter particulate matter.
All particulate matter that is released is therefore released through the chimney. Ultra-fine particulate matter travels very far before it comes down.
As a result, particulate matter emitted by a ship far out to sea can ultimately still be inhaled by us and cause damage to health in the long term. Particulate matter can even travel so far that it comes down the polar caps and negatively affects the melting of these important ice bodies. With 99% filtering of particulate matter through our Filtree System, you prevent this and contribute to combating climate change.

The impact on the CO2 footprint of the use of high-sulfur fuel compared to low-sulfur fuel is lower. The national government has started an initiative to determine the CO2 emission factor of fuels. These factors can be found at www.co2emissiefactoren.nl.
It can be seen that the use of high-sulfur fuel achieves a CO2 reduction of 5.4%.
In addition, marine engines are not designed to use low sulfur fuel, making it inefficient. If this inefficiency is included, you even achieve a CO2 saving of more than 10%.
The soot particles and oil residues that are captured are stored in the sludge tanks on the ship. This sludge is delivered to land for processing in the usual environmental friendly way.
The Filtree System does not use chemicals that dissolve metal residues in the exhaust stream and contaminate the wash water. In addition, the Filtree System captures ultra-fine particulate matter (99% reduction) and is based on another more compact technology. In addition, the water filter filters the used seawater from soot particles and oil residues. Another difference is that the washing water used is not acidic but PH Neutral.

Financial
That is that with a lease you have a fixed monthly payment and with a fuel saving agreement you pay a percentage of the generated fuel savings.
That is the ownership of the system. When you buy you own the system and do not have any lease. You also have no up front costs with a fuel saving agreement.

There are three options for purchasing a filter-tree system:
– Buy
– Lease
– Fuel Saving Agreement (FSA)
High sulfur fuel (HSFO) can be used with our system. This is cheaper than using low sulfur fuel (VLSFO / MGO). Our system is also better for the environment.
